Two Faces in the Mirror

A great book that answers a lot of questions in today's world. As the church seems to change toward the
world instead of change the world we need more writers that will give the Biblical arguments of how and
why we should return to and practice holiness. I think Jesus' description of Lot describes the church
today well. He states his soul was vexed with the evil around him. As Christians we are becoming
hardened and insensitive to things we would never have allowed years ago. This book reveals what
needs to be revealed. It doesn't keep us in another century but does point us told the Kingdom.
For those who have to answer the questions "why?" Or for those who ask the questions, this is a great
book. I would especially recommend this book to the new Christian who wants to do it right. I applaud the
author's courage to write a an unpopular message that needs to be told."

"A masterfully written book, full of eye-opening truths that will compel you to look inside of yourself

and see who you really are, and what you can become."

"While there are many great churches in America and Europe, and we thank the Lord for them, many others need revival. Much of the church world has lost its way, and no longer knows how to get into the living presence of her Lord. When I say this, I am not finding fault and bashing the church. I say this as a result of the extensive traveling my wife and I have done through the years. Having ministered in both large and small churches, here and abroad, we have witnessed first-hand the hopelessness, the waywardness that exists in many congregations today.

The good news is; that whenever churches responded to the preaching of the Word, and surrendered their lives to His Lordship, it was amazing what the Lord would do. In fact, when people really got right with the Lord, with each other, and with the pastor, we saw an overwhelming majority of those troubled congregations restored, and they often doubled in size in a year or two.

In reading this book, I discovered the author is covering many of the same things that we found hurting the “Body of Christ in a community.” He discovers the poison in the blood-stream of the church and supplies the antidote; which is a vital, living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

This is a hard-hitting book! The author “pulls no punches,” yet he does it out of his deep love for people and the “Body of Christ.” His insight is keen and his descriptions are sharp and enlightening. These things need to be said. They must be said! At times, you may feel strongly convicted, but if you will press on, the author always gives the remedy for the situation. The answer is there!

This is a much needed book for our generation, and if followed prayerfully, will produce revival in a person’s own life and in the local church. It will save many of our pastors from “burn-out” and make the local church the most exciting thing in town. At Corinth, the Apostle Paul found that some were not discerning the body of Christ. He told them, “For this reason some are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.” His solution was simple, “For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.”

Wouldn’t you love to see the local church crowned with the wonderful presence of our Risen Lord again? It can be, and will be, if we will simply heed the admonition of this book. These words are just as true today, as when the Lord uttered them to Solomon thousands of years ago, “If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chron. 7:13-14, KJV). Let’s do it!!!"

Leading From His Heart

"Dr. Tom and Candy Cannon entered our lives at just the right moment several years back.  My wife Theresa and I had just completed a large building program and we had just begun another expensive project. The pastorate can be a lonely place with ever increasing responsibilities, budgets, and programs along with the daily burden and care for people.

Into that moment came Dr. Tom Cannon.  When he arrived at our church, he came with a respected resume’ and a righteous reputation. Having pastored for twenty-five years, they founded an international ministry called “Destiny Ministries.”  Tom teaches leaders, plants churches and Bible Colleges, and writes college-level curriculum.  He is a very busy man.

Yet, when Tom and Candy relocated their headquarters to Tennessee, they witnessed the heavy burden we carried and asked; “How can we serve? Let us help you, Pastor Hilton.” My heart was overwhelmed by the genuine servant-heart of this very busy and godly man!  “Leading From His Heart” is more than a book about serving, it is a book written by a true servant-leader.

Dr. Tom Cannon will take your heart on a journey as you read “Leading From His Heart.”  You will learn the way up in leadership is down. You will travel from the top to the bottom of the ladder of leadership. You will follow the steps of Jesus Christ, the Supreme Servant, from success to sacrifice. You will discover the rich and fulfilling rewards promised to those who serve from the heart.

"Hundreds of thousands of “Christians” all over the world struggle every day trying to live a victorious Christian life, but never succeed. And this at a time when churches are larger than ever, and there is a wide variety of conferences, meetings and crusades to attend anywhere in the world you choose to go. The world’s largest Television Network is “Christian.” Some entire countries in certain mission fields have been declared, by their political leaders “Christian Nations.” Great revivals have started and touched entire nations. Preaching can be heard 24/7 on radio, TV and the internet. Yet, when speaking to the average “Christian” on the street, you hear about the struggles they are having just getting through the week in trying to serve God.

There is a reason!  For years now, the leaders of our churches have told hurting humanity, “Just pray this sinner’s prayer, repeat after me, and you will be saved and go to heaven!” It would be great if it was that simple, but we need to take a fresh look at what the Bible says about salvation.

If we were to ask the Apostle Peter, “What must we do?” His answer would be the same as it was on the Day of Pentecost, “Repent, be baptized, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” There is more to the full package of salvation than just a “quick prayer.” The very sin nature needs to be cut out of our lives and buried forever. This book will show you how, from the biblical pattern to bury the ‘old nature’ and live in daily victory.

Dr. Thomas F. Cannon and Pastor Robbie Hilton recognize the critical situation that exists in the Body of Christ today and address this book directly to it. They cover this subject from ‘The Need For Change’ to ‘Covenant Benefits,’ showing once we see the need for change, how to go about it, and the benefits that come with the change that takes place when we get back to the bible pattern.

This book, ‘Changing Natures,’ should be widely read by lay leaders, ministers and anyone who desires to be a victorious Christian. Victory is obviously the will of God. This is the day to purify our lives and see millions of Christians made free from lukewarm Christianity and move into the glorious liberty of Christ. Dr. Cannon and Pastor Hilton, with this book, have made a notable contribution to the Body of Christ in our day."
